Marta Gołąb was born in Krakow where she also lives. 

The artist graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. As a child she would create cutouts inspired by highland motifs and Art Deco. In 1994, for the first time, she learned about Jewish cutouts during the Festival of Jewish culture in Krakow. 

She makes Jewish cutouts using various techniques- in paper and parchment, colorful and monochromatic- and all the time she experiments.
